Don Sadoway on Energy Storage Good discussions this week on the topic of new paradigms for utility grids and energy storage. I’m reposting Don Sadoway’s TED talk from 2012, because he has a promising technology for energy storage – that has continued in development by the startup Ambri. http://climatecrocks.com/2014/02/25/reposting-don-sadoway-on-energy-storage/
This roadmap shows how all 50 US states can transition to 100% renewable energy by 2050 It’s no secret that we’re big advocates of clean renewable energy here at TreeHugger, as moving toward solar, wind, geothermal and hydropower can offer a wide range of environmental, social, and economic benefits. Transitioning to 100% renewable energy can reduce or eliminate the production of air and water pollutants at the generating source, which can affect the personal health of local residents, and a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions can help in the long-term health of the planet and its climate, including its effects on extreme weather events. http://www.treehugger.com/renewable-energy/roadmap-50-states-transition-renewable-energy-2050.html
